The ICODE 3 from NXP Semiconductors is a High Frequency (HF) RFID Tag IC that operates at 13.56 MHz. It is designed to operate from long-range HF-RFID readers and NFC phones, to support cross-range operations across manufacture, supply, and usage chains. It is fully compatible with the ISO/IEC 15693 standard and NFC Forum Type 5 tag. This RFID tag has 2432 bits of EEPROM user memory with optional password protection and a 97 pF internal tuning capacitance. It also features a customizable digital originality signature to ensure the origin of the tag for cloning detection and enhanced privacy modes to protect user privacy.
The ICODE 3 has a read rate of up to 212 kbit/s and can operate over a distance of 1.5 m. It supports an anticollision algorithm that selects each tag individually and ensures that the execution of a transaction with a selected tag is performed without data corruption from other tags in the field. This RFID tag is available as a wafer that measures ?300 x 0.12 mm and is ideal for product identification, product tracking & tracing, counterfeit protection, inventory management, smart-device consumable system communication, and augmented mobile interaction applications.
